Pineland Farms will celebrate the end of summer with their second Family Night, a festive evening of folk music and dancing is planned for Thursday, August 27th.

Performing a lively mix of old-time jigs-&-reels music will be the multi-generational fiddle ensemble Les Bijoux (The Jewels), whose members range from age 10 to “ageless.”

Folk dance instructor/caller Cindy Larock will be on hand to lead attendees in an assortment of fun and easy square and contra dances, which she describes as “designed for anyone old enough to know their left from their right,” making them user-friendly for school-age youth as well as their parents and grandparents. For those interested in a more relaxing evening, bring a picnic and just enjoy the show.

The Family Night event will be held rain or shine from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Pineland Farms' spacious events tent. Family Night is open to people of all ages.  There will be additional activities for children.  Admission is $5 per person, with tickets available at the Welcome Center. Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2015

Retired FEI 4* Judge Angelika Fromming returns to The Equestrian Center with Johann Hinnemann, one of the best known and most sought after dressage trainers in the world. Our second annual symposium will examine the practical implementation of the six, inseparable basics of dressage - rhythm, suppleness, contact, impulsion, straightness and collection - as well as how a structured training system will help every horse advance.

Angelika Fromming's contributions to dressage as a rider, trainer, historian and judge are immeasurable. She masterfully addresses what she considers the essentials of judging: submission, relaxation, correct elevation, impulsion and lightness in the bridle. These qualities are the goal of proper implementation of The Training Scale.

Johann Hinnemann is recognized world-wide as a trainer and coach. He was Canada's Team trainer and the German National Coach alongside Klaus Balkenhol. His student roster reads like a "Who's Who" of Olympic medalists and various national champions, including Steffen Peters, Coby van Baalen, Marlies van Baalen, Ulla Salzgeber, Heiki Kemmer, and Alexandra Simmons de Ridder.

This 2-day event is part of the USDF Continuing Education for Dressage Judges program and USDF University. Thank you Maine Dressage Society for sponsoring the judges' program.

Click here for registration. Lunch is included with your pre-registration. Walk-ins are welcome (but you'll have to buy your own lunch).
