Pineland Farms will celebrate summer with our first ever Family Night, a festive evening of folk music and dancing is planned for Thursday, July 30.
Performing a lively mix of old-time jigs and reels music will be the multi-generational fiddle ensemble Les Bijoux (The Jewels), whose members range from age 10 to “ageless.”
Folk dance instructor/caller Cindy Larock will be on hand to lead attendees in an assortment of fun and easy square and contra dances, which she describes as “designed for anyone old enough to know their left from their right,” making them user-friendly for school-age youth as well as their parents and grandparents.
Cathryn Anderson, Pineland Farms' education program coordinator, encourages people of all ages to attend, including those who would prefer to just sit out and tap their feet while they watch the fun on the dance floor. “We will have other fun activities for younger kiddos to enjoy," she says, "and picnicking is also welcome.”
The Family Night event will be held rain or shine from 5 to 7 p.m. in Pineland Farms' spacious special-events tent. Admission is $5 per person, with tickets available at The Market and Welcome Center. Please call 207-650-3031 for more information. more...
