Education at Pineland

Learning is at the heart of Pineland Farms' mission. As our culture in southern Maine shifts to an increasingly urban and suburban way of life, it is more important than ever to emphasize the vital role of farming.

Pineland Farms' 5,000-acre property offers an inspiring classroom for people of all ages. Much of the learning takes place in our forests, fields and farmyards. Through hands-on participation visitors will have the opportunity to explore their connections to natural and agricultural resources and the community of Maine. Students will experience personalized learning that links the intellectual with experiential.  Educational staff is developing programming for visitors of all ages designed to:

  • Educate participants about local natural history and agriculture
  • Inspire participants to become active stewards of land and resources
  • Connect participants to forests, fields, livestock and land
  • Facilitate a meaningful hands-on experience
  • Create a positive educational experience emphasizing fun and learning
