Belgian Draft Horse

Belgian draft horses originated in Belgium and are known for their size, strength and diligent work abilities. They are used for both farm and industrial purposes. Belgians are considered one of the most versatile horse breeds in the United States and are the most popular draft horse. They are used for pulling carriages, wagons and sleighs, as well as logging and plowing. Belgians are also used in jumping, dressage and Western riding. Horses are measured in hands, with one hand being equal to four inches. Teddy is 17.2 hands or 68.8 inches to his withers (shoulders). He is employed by Pineland Farms for pulling and logging.
