Summer Camp Programs

Summer camp programs at Pineland Farms are designed to:

  • Educate students about local natural history and agriculture
  • Inspire students to become active stewards of land and resources
  • Facilitate a meaningful hands-on experience
  • Connect students to forests, fields, livestock and land
  • Create a positive camp experience emphasizing fun and learning.

Program details are listed below.

Registration – starting February 19, 2008

Registration for camp is required at least two weeks prior to the beginning of each session. Due to limited program space, a $50.00 deposit must be made within one week of registration. Payment in full is required prior to the beginning of camp and may be in the form of cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Pineland Farms and mailed to: Pineland Farms Summer Day Camp, 110 Valley Farm Road, New Gloucester, ME 04260.

Cancellations

Registration for camp is required at least two weeks prior to the beginning of each session. Registration can be processed via mail, by phone or e-mail.

With a 30-day notice, camp tuition can be refunded in full, minus a $50.00 administration fee.

Cancellations made two weeks prior to the session will result in a refund of half the tuition, minus a $50.00 administration fee.

No refund will be granted for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the session.

 

Survivor Camp

Session I : July 21 - July 25
Ages: 10 and up
Time: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Cost: $350.00

Spend a week at Pineland Farms learning the basic skills of survival. Each day will offer new techniques such as shelter building, orienteering, map and compass, fire building, wild edibles and Maine natural history. Whether you are interested in just learning more or preparing for Junior Maine Guide course, this week will be filled with lessons on how to be more confidant in the outdoors.

From the Ground Up Day Camp

Session I: July 7 - July 18 / Ages: Entering Kindergarden
Session II: July 28 - August 8 / Ages: Entering 1st and 2nd Grade
Session III: August 11 - August 22 / Ages: Entering 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $350.00 per child

From the Ground Up is a two-week day camp providing an integrated farm/ecology experience for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Camp sessions will be divided into one-week explorations. The first week will focus on the farm, and the second week students will investigate the local ecology of our forests, fields and wetlands. Themes will include the dairy, horses, insects, and wildlife! Our day will also include games, arts and crafts, and the occasional guest instructor. This year we welcome back Sparks Ark, and look forward to many new adventures.

Little Sprouts Day Camp

Session I: June 23 - July 3
Ages: 4 and 5
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $175.00

Session II: August 18 - 29
Ages: 4 and 5
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ONLY
Cost: $175.00

Little Sprouts Day Camp is a fun, educational program designed to nurture inquiry about the world around us and promote self-confidence. Our forests, fields and farmyards offer a perfect setting to explore and learn. Through stories, games, crafts and outdoor activities, we strive to create a positive, fulfilling experience. Campers will participate in a variety of activities on the farm including milking a cow, riding in a wagon, going on a treasure hunt and hosting guests from around the State. Campers will have opportunities to meet a local artist, enjoy a visit from Sparks Ark and, of course, visit with our beloved farm animals. We hope to see you on the farm!
